My first post will be about the fastest 3 minutes that I can remember. I drove down to Simcoe Ontario where it would be a total eclipse. The clouds started the morning covering Ont. from Detroit east. By 11 AM it was sunny in London so off I went. And sunny it was in Simcoe where I was parked on a side road. Camera ready and I waited for the show. Unfortunately I didn’t buy the eclipse glasses so I had my camera do it for me. The shadow was advancing, a few light clouds passed. Then the shadow raced across the last bit of the sun. The diamond winked and then instantly it turned dark. I had the camera set for sunlight and I had to reset it to night time and I had to find my van dome light to see what I was doing. I got the the total eclipse. The temperature has dropped as it was going into total. At total the countryside had a dawn redish hazy all around. I saw Jupiter which was close to the sun. The bright stars were out. I was ready with the camera for the diamond to appear and pop it showed. Instantly the darkness left. The 3 minute show was over. So much more I could have photographed but I got the star of the show and I am grateful to have experienced the eclipse.
