Aurora Light Show May 10 2024

We were warned that we could be in for a show. The tracking oval around the north pole started to turn red and expanded red into the USA, below us here in Kitchener. It’s only a little after 5 PM and I had to find a place to photograph the show. I wanted water and no city lights. I choose north of Owen Sound on GeorgianBay. My lucky night I found a small park on the shore of the Bay.

The sun is down and the camera is picking up a faint Aurora. FYI the camera is set for about a 4 second exposer to capture all the light. With your eye you can faintly see the lights and see them moving but the camera gets the intensity of the different colours.

Then it’s like the gates opens and the aurora light blasts in.

The light show is constantly moving and the colours are changing

That covers some of my pictures by the water. It’s midnight and they are still blasting out the colours

On my way home I took a couple of landscape shots but the light show was starting to fade.

There you have my best lifetime Aurora lightshow. It was spectacular in every way.
