Back to Algonquin

I’m back into Algonquin but this time from the north. I wanted to see the Brent Crater and to do that you need to drive a gravel logging road for 40 kms. Sounds like a chore but WOW the colour was fantastic even though it was drizzling rain.

The info on the crater that I didn’t do the 2 km walk in to see because it was raining at this point.

A short drive farther you come to the old village of Brent on Cedar Lake. It once had a railroad to haul out the logs from the park. Some builds are still here and a few people live here.

When I got to the lake there was a plane loading up with a canoe and persons for their trip to the out there.

the rest of the pictures was was of the ride out of the park.

Even with the drizzle the colours made it all worth the trip down the long road.

  1. I wouldn’t have thought fall leaf pictures in the rain would be good, but I was wrong! These are great! I had never heard of The Brent Crater – thanks for sharing the info displays!
